A quilt is three layers of fabric conjoined, usually by thread, and the edges are bound. Long Arm Quilting Long Arm Quilting (LAQ) is the assembly of a quilt, utilizing a sewing machine that is moves over the layers, versus the layers being moved underneath the needle. Our LAQ services are provided by a quilter guided machine. Key Benefits
Types of LAQ Services Available Basting Services These services are provided to those persons wishing to hand quilt their tops. The advantage to LAQ basting is that the fabrics can be sandwiched together without wrinkles or pinches and then returned to you for the quilting. This service is a way to ease the stress of ensuring large quilts are sandwiched together evenly, without tucks and puckers. Edge to Edge Services These are quilting services that allow the customer to choose a pattern which will be stitched from edge to edge on the quilt. This form of quilting is similar to what you would get on a purchased comforter or quilt. It provides a method of securing the three layers together with patterned stitches. Custom Quilting These are quilting services that are unique to each quilt. The patterns and designs are chosen based on the individual quilt top and proposed quilt uses. This is the only type of quilting that can be sought for tops with embellishments. Custom quilting services can include various thread changes to add artistic characteristics to the quilt.
